George Tjungurrayi was born in the remote desert area west of Kiwirrkura in 1947 and moved to Papunya in the 1960s.
George, and his older brother Willy Tjungurrayi, both began paiting in 1976, in West Camp, Papunya. George depicts the Tingari Dreaming cycle in his paintings and the sacred sites in his ancestral history.
